Well yesterday was a lazy day so we slept in, had a late breakfast, went into Galway, did some shopping and then came back to have a nap. Woke up and walked into Salthill, had some dinner, then onto the local pub for beers and music. There was a local band playing cover songs, they were pretty good. Jamie and I enjoyed ourselves, found out we don't like Harps beer - yuk!
Today was off to Kylemore Abbey, Dogs Bay beach and Clonmacnoise. Kylemore was beautiful, and the story behind it is so sweet (I will leave you to google it). The gothic church there was so beautiful. A short walk to the Victorian walled gardens. They were pretty cool, gardens so flowers and bugs and stuff. Had a good time, glad we saw it!
Off to the beach, almost thought we wouldn't find it and then around the corner we went and tada, there it was. Pretty water and nice sand beach. Didn't linger too long we had a long drive to our next destination...
Clonmacnoise, built in the mid 500s! Yes, 500s. Very old. Beautiful gravestones and crosses. Peaceful and quiet.
We headed home, since it was late we decided to fast food it and went to their equivalent of mcdonalds. It was good, fast food so noting special but not awful.
Off to bed semi early tonight, we are headed out tomorrow to the Aran Islands!
